Albanese takes what are typically grandiose landscapes - from mountain ranges to tornadoes to Martian landscapes - shrinks them down to miniature and then photographs them. The size and materials used, with the peculiar depth and textures those provide, help to add elements of fantasy and playfulness to what might normally be mundane landscapes. Toting the line between photography and illustration, you can't help but to wonder what Albanese's worlds are made of.
