So one aspect in painting that I find myself continually drawn to is when an artist elaborates on color, either by enhancing the hues that are already there or creatively bringing in their own (though ones that, on a different level perhaps, are "there" already). I think this is one of the reasons I'm fascinated with
Joaquim Mir's work, and why I find these paintings by Amy Talluto so alluring. It's something about the unabashed use of those vibrant tones, the colors that seem unnatural but not exactly out of place, like they are the hues that are actually there, that we miss, that the artist is trying to show us.
