I love these illustrations from Jon Klassen. He's somehow able to create these worlds with such depth while, at the same time, give them a sense of weightlessness in their translucence. I'm not quite sure how to put my finger on it. I'm also a fan of the (seemingly) hastily-created geometric shapes, the triangles that aren't quiet perfect and the random polygons. Just a bit on his credentials: Klassen was the designer behind U2's video for I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight, and involved with the visual development for the stop-motion movie, Coraline. Oh, and if you're wondering, this first illustration is titled, "Storming the Capital." Brilliant.
