These photographs come from Karen Bubaš' series, "Studies in Landscape and Wardrobe." And while I guess they could seem trite on the surface, I feel like the images ask a little more of the viewer. The questions I'm left with anyways, are: "Why are her subjects always looking away from us?" "Has Bubaš intentionally dwarfed her subjects - and so implied their insignificance? - by setting them in the midst of vast landscapes (or at least huge canvases)?" "What do we make of 'fashion' that complements, or is rooted in, or is inspired by the wearer's environment? - is this what fashion always is? - does it matter?" And so on. All that said, there's also the fact that these are just lovely photographs with wonderful color and great composition. Enjoy.
This page is a collection of some of the great art I've found about the internet, interspersed with a little bit of my own work. All of these works can be viewed larger by clicking on the image itself. If the picture appears to be the same size or smaller, then right click it and select "View Image" (do not do this from the main page, only after you have initially clicked the image to view it). Also, make sure to use the "Back" button to return to the blog, as clicking the image does not bring up a new window.
