Here are a couple paintings and an installation by Cambridge, MA artist, Peat Duggins. The first two seem to be a play on the whole post-apocalytpic, post-humanity, nature takes over theme, but in a...well...sweet kind of way, the juxtaposition of which makes them really fun (to say nothing about how well they're done). The later two images are of an installation titled, "The Great Debate." One has an audio feedback loop (The Orator), the other, a video feedback loop (The Visionary). I think it's a brilliant commentary on modern (American) politics, the feedback loops it has internalized, the futility and, let's face it, sad joke that formal political discourse has become, and how, because of all this, we as a public are left with mere noise (in both word and vision) when it comes to political matters...if not to social and relation matters as well.
