Here are some really terrific ink drawings by Spanish-born artist, Ernesto Ciavano. I find his work interesting both in its painstaking detail and seamless amalgamation of disparate genres. I also really like his use of negative space and how it intrudes upon his subjects; it actually reminds me a bit of those paint-by-number illustrations - in a good way, of course. And while not all his work is dominated by birds (as my selection would seem to indicate), they are my favorites, mostly because I feel they are his most dynamic illustrations, given the amount of movement he imparts to his mythical fowl.

If you happen to come across this page, then consider it finding a scrapbook on someone's coffee table: not exactly meant for you, but not kept out of sight either. Somewhere between private and public, timidly exhibitionist.
